Answers
Question 1
What is Tek-Rail made of?
Answer
The basic ingredient is rigid PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) with impact modifiers and high levels of Titanium Dioxide for UV resistance.   Return to top

Question 2
Will it turn yellow?
Answer
No! Tek-Rail products contain high levels of titanium dioxide which prevents ultraviolet degradation. Our products have a free Limited lifetime warranty.   Return to top

Question 3
Will it break in cold weather? Will it hold its rigidity in hot weather?
Answer
As with most plastics, vinyl will become less flexible in colder weather conditions. However, unless subjected to unusual impact, it will not break. It is normal for vinyl materials to expand and contract during temperature changes. Tek-Rail has been engineered to accommodate normal temperature swings and changing climate conditions.   Return to top

Question 4
Will it burn?
Answer
PVC has a high flash point, 716 degrees F. It does not readily ignite and does not sustain combustion once the source of ignition is removed. It is therefore categorized as being "Self-Extinguishing."   Return to top

Question 5
How strong is it?

Answer
Tek-Rail has been engineered to exceed IBC 2000 and IBC 2003 building codes when installed to Tek-Rail specifications   Return to top

Question 6
How do I clean it?
Answer
A damp cloth usually does it. For more stubborn dirt, you can power wash it and use chlorine bleach for stains. Never use PVC cleaner, as that product is used to melt PVC for solvent welding.   Return to top

Question 10
Why vinyl - how does it compare to wood, aluminum, and steel?
Answer
Tek-Rail is 100% Maintenance Free, comes with a Free Limited Lifetime Warranty, is Chemically Engineered to Avoid Yellowing, Guaranteed to Never Chip, Rust or Splinter, Never Needs Painting, and is Stress Tested and Impact Resistant. Compare that to the cracking, chipping, splintering, and constant painting of wood; and don't forget the denting and rusting of aluminum and steel. Nothing holds up better than the Tek-Rail Quality Vinyl Railing System and continuing maintenance cost is practically nonexistent - the maintenance people love it!   Return to top

Question 11
Just what makes Tek-Rail better than those other vinyl products?
Answer
It's not just the Quality of our Service that is second to none - the materials used and how they are assembled into the final product are every bit as important. Many people, when they think of vinyl and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), immediately think of "plastic" and to a lot of us that still conjures up the word "cheap" from the earliest days when many plastic things broke easily - well, times have changed! Our assembled product is code tested and certified. Tek-Rail Quality Vinyl Railing Systems are custom fabricated from specially manufactured materials that are specifically designed to be used as railing. Not just some modified ornamental fencing that never was designed to be used as railing and that can't stand up to the stress and strain of those times when safety is essential, with Tek-Rail, you get exactly what you pay for. And that means value, safety, quality, reliability, and beauty all rolled into one exceptional package!   Return to top
